Delete Your Account

If you would like to delete your Malawian account, you can do so by submitting a request to our team. We will process your request after verifying ownership of the account.
How to Request Account Deletion
Send an email to admin@malawian.com with the following information:
- Your email address or username associated with the account
- A brief statement requesting account deletion
We will verify ownership of the account before processing the deletion. This may involve sending a confirmation to the email address on file.
What Gets Deleted
Once your account is deleted, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account profile and login credentials
- All playlists you have created
- Your personal preferences and settings
What Is Retained
Certain aggregated and anonymised data is retained to maintain the integrity of the platform:
- Play counts and download counts on songs and artists you interacted with are not subtracted. These counts are part of the platform's aggregate statistics and are not tied to your identity.
- Comments on the website will have their author changed to [deleted user]. The comment content will remain visible unless you specifically request that your comments be deleted as well.
- If you request comment deletion, the comment content will be replaced with [deleted comment] and the author will show [deleted user].
Tip: If you want your comments removed along with your account, please mention this in your deletion request email. Otherwise, only your username will be anonymised on existing comments.
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are typically processed within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
