Malawi’s Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS) says cloudy conditions with thunderstorms and rain, which will be locally heavy, are expected over northern Malawi and some central areas, while the south is forecast to be partly cloudy, according to DCCMS’s weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow, February 24, 2026. DCCMS attributes the pattern to the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) being active over the north.
In its five-day outlook for February 24 to February 28, 2026, DCCMS says isolated thunderstorms and rains, locally heavy mainly over northern areas, are expected, with occasional windy conditions also forecast. DCCMS says the outlook is linked to the ITCZ oscillating north of the country.
