Malawian music producer Tapps Bandawe has launched "Nsimabeats," a global online platform designed to export local sounds and help producers monetise their work, according to Nation Online. The platform allows Malawian producers to upload their beats and connect directly with international musicians, artists, and brands. Bandawe stated that the initiative aims to build a recurring income system for creators by licensing African sounds and using traditional Malawian rhythms and instruments in the global market.

In other industry news, the Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) Board has effectively suspended its operations following a recent High Court order, Nation Online reports. The court directive forced the board to halt its activities pending a judicial review over the removal of former board members. This presents an administrative challenge for the body responsible for managing intellectual property and distributing royalties to local creatives.

Update: The 17th edition of the Nasfest International Youth Cultural Festival is officially underway at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima District, according to JustMalawi. Operating under the theme "Fire of Culture," the weeklong event features performances by creatives from Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Organisers from the Light of Youth Creative Organisation noted that ongoing regional fuel shortages prevented some scheduled international groups from travelling by road to attend the festival.
