Zomba City Festival Concludes at UNIMA as MUBAS Advances Agricultural Research

Update: The sixth edition of the Zomba City Festival recently concluded its three-day run, which included events staged at the University of Malawi (UNIMA) and other locations across the city. According to Music In Africa, the festival featured music, spoken word, and panel discussions aimed at promoting Malawian cultural heritage.

In other university news, the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) is advancing agricultural and nutritional research through the Sustainable and Healthy Food Systems Southern Africa initiative. MUBAS reports that researchers, led by Professor Theresa Mkandawire, closed a stakeholder engagement in Chikwawa and Blantyre. The project seeks to support the government's Shire Valley Transformation Project by exploring opportunities for collaboration in irrigation development and food security.
