Update: FCB Nyasa Big Bullets secured a 2-1 victory over Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the Blantyre Derby on Sunday at the Bingu National Stadium. According to Nyasa Times and Pan-Africa Football, the win ended Wanderers' recent dominance over the Bullets, which included a victory in the NBS Bank Charity Shield earlier this year.

The Bullets opened the scoring just four minutes into the FDH Bank Premiership match when Blessings Mpokera converted a penalty after Ephraim Kondowe was brought down in the box. Maxwell Gasten Phodo doubled the lead in the 58th minute with a header from a corner kick. Wanderers responded quickly in the 61st minute with a penalty goal from substitute Promise Kamwendo, but they could not find an equaliser despite hitting the woodwork three times, reports Pan-Africa Football. Bullets goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu was named Player of the Match for his crucial saves.

The matchup saw tempers flare in the second half, resulting in three red cards. According to Pan-Africa Football, Bullets team manager Noel Kaole was dismissed following disputes over officiating, while Wanderers winger Gaddie Chirwa and Bullets striker Gasten Phodo were sent off following an off-the-ball incident.

In other sports news, the University of Malawi's School of Law, Economics and Government concluded its 4th Executive Dean's Trophy. As reported by the university's official website on May 11, the Economics Society won championships in football, volleyball, chess, and the male relay race. The Students' Law Society claimed the basketball title, the Law Enforcement Society triumphed in netball, and the PAS Society swept the athletics sprint events.
