Malawian artist Onesimus has announced the upcoming release of his new album, 'Son of Grace,' scheduled to drop on May 25 across all digital streaming platforms, according to Music In Africa. The project is named in honour of his late mother, Grace Kalua, and explores themes of African identity and romance through Afrobeats, amapiano, and 3-step music. The album features a mix of languages including Chichewa and Chinyanja. It also includes a tribute track titled 'Why So Soon' dedicated to musicians Malome Vector, Lizwi Wokuqala, and Da Mos, who passed away in 2024. The release includes international and local collaborations with artists such as Nutty O, Chile One Mr Zambia, and Wave Rhyder.

In other music news, singer and songwriter Praise Umali is preparing to host a formal listening session in Lilongwe later this week, according to local ticketing platform Ulinzinga. The event will celebrate his 2024 Afro-soul album, 'What We Become.' The 13-track project features vocal contributions from several major local artists, including Kell Kay, Onesimus, Zeze Kingston, Classick, and Kelvin Sings, TrendyBeatz reports.
