Update: The World Bank's SAVE Project has expanded its capacity building by delivering occupational health and safety training to environmental and social focal points across Malawi, according to World Bank Blogs. The programme reached nine public higher education institutions and seven national technical colleges to ensure construction sites maintain strict environmental safeguards. Professor Ishmael Kosamu of the Malawi Higher Education Institutions Network on Climate Change Learning stated that the training will prepare graduates to properly manage environmental and social risks in future development projects.

During a media session in Lilongwe, advocates urged the government to implement stronger tobacco control measures to protect public health and the environment, EnviroNews reports. Nelson Zakeyo, executive director of Drug Fight Malawi, noted that while Malawi completed a needs assessment for the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in February 2025, concrete policies have not yet been adopted. Zakeyo called for better collaboration to balance the country's economic dependence on tobacco exports with necessary health and environmental protections.

Update: The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services continues to track the seasonal weather transition, predicting cool to cold temperatures and partly cloudy skies across the country. The department reported that a moist southeasterly air mass is driving the current weather pattern. This system is expected to bring isolated rain showers to lakeshore areas, along with patchy fog and occasionally windy conditions during the night and early morning hours.
