Ascent Academy's Leticia Chinyamula will face Silver Strikers duo Deborah Henry and Ireen Khumalo for the Women's Player of the Year award.
In men's national team news, Flames head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has named a 23-member squad of locally based players who will enter camp on March 7. Update: The Confederation of African Football has officially rescheduled the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which will feature the Malawi Scorchers. According to APAnews, the 16-team event in Morocco has been moved to July 25 through August 16, 2026. The tournament group stage places Malawi in Group C alongside Zambia, Nigeria, and Egypt, and will also serve as a qualifying route for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
