In local innovation news, Malawian technology and education company Access Ability Africa Limited recently won the Best Inclusive Africa Innovation award at the 7th Inclusive Africa Conference in Nairobi. Nyasa Times reports that the company received the prize for its Blind Classroom platform, an AI-powered, voice-based learning system that helps visually impaired students easily access educational materials.
Accepting the award, executive director Staff Nyoni noted that the system was built locally to support Malawian children with disabilities and ensure they are not left behind in their studies.
In other entertainment news, DStv Malawi has launched a new showcase for the winter season, bringing a selection of international films to local television screens. According to DStv updates, the special movie schedule will run from June through August. The network's lineup features popular titles such as Spider-Man: Far From Home, Wicked, and Playing with Fire. The broadcaster stated that the programming block is designed to deliver engaging stories and major film releases to home audiences over the coming months.
