Update: As the 2026 Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations proceed, the Ministry of Education has reported a smooth and well-coordinated administration across the country. Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bright Msaka monitored the exams at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School and expressed optimism that this year's national pass rate will surpass last year's 77 percent, according to Nation Online. Administrators at the centre noted that examination materials were delivered on time and that students are strictly adhering to testing regulations.

Update: Following previous rescheduling, the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) held its third graduation ceremony at its main campus in Blantyre, conferring degrees and diplomas on 1,353 students. Nation Online reports that Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Nancy Chitera challenged the graduates to apply their skills toward creating practical solutions for the country's economic and social challenges. Ministry of Education Principal Secretary Ken Ndala attended as the guest of honour and urged the cohort to link their classroom knowledge directly to national development efforts.

In a related effort to strengthen ethics in higher education, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) concluded a five-day reorientation for the MUBAS Institutional Integrity Committee. ACB principal corruption prevention officer Sam Kambani stated that universities play an important role in the national anti-corruption strategy by shaping the country's future leaders, according to Nation Online. The committee confirmed it is actively conducting awareness campaigns and training first-year students to promote a corruption-free environment on campus and within public procurement processes.
