The ongoing xenophobic violence in South Africa has begun to affect the Malawian entertainment sector, prompting responses from local artists and promoters. According to Nation Online, musician Temwah recently took to social media to condemn the mistreatment of Malawians, suggesting that South African artists should not be allowed to perform in Malawi until the attacks stop. In response to the safety risks, event organiser Madness Entertainment also cancelled two scheduled performances for Malawian musician Joe Ikon in South Africa.

In music news, artist Praise Umali has released a new 12-track album titled "Dreams For Sale", according to The Hype Magazine. The release follows his recently dropped singles and features a collection of songs that serve as a personal reflection on his career and life experiences. The project shows the steady growth of contemporary Malawian music reaching wider African audiences.

Additionally, South Africa-based Malawian producer and recording artist Jillz has released a new collaborative single titled "Energy", featuring local stars Zeze Kingston and Tay Grin. The Hype Magazine reports that the track first premiered on the MBC Radio 2 FM program Made On Monday before hitting digital streaming platforms. The song brings together different eras of the country's urban music scene, blending Jillz's production with Zeze Kingston's melodies and Tay Grin's veteran presence.
