Maranatha Academy rewarded its top-performing Form 4 students with K200,000 cash prizes during a ceremony at the Golden Peacock Hotel to motivate them ahead of the upcoming Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, according to Nyasa Times. Honorees included Mary Njewa for her performance in Agriculture and Kingsley Dombola, who received a special recognition award. The academy also extended awards to teachers for their roles in preparing the students for the national exams.
Additionally, the government is revising the upper primary syllabus to address rising social challenges among learners. According to UNESCO, the Malawi Institute of Education has drafted a new Health and Well-being Education curriculum that integrates life skills, physical education, and home economics. The updated syllabus is designed to help students navigate issues such as early pregnancies, school dropouts, and mental health.
