Sports betting company WS Bet has donated K5 million to the Sports Writers Association of Malawi (SWAM) to support its upcoming Annual General Meeting, according to Nyasa Times. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Salima in July 2026 and will coincide with global commemorations for World Sports Journalists Day. WS Bet Finance Director Blessings Banda formally presented the funds, stating that the company wants to help sports journalists gather and develop ideas that improve public sports reporting. SWAM Vice President Lucy Kadzongwe welcomed the financial support, noting that the funds arrived at a critical time and will assist the association in covering the logistical costs of the event.

In domestic football, the Super League of Malawi has announced late venue and date changes for upcoming FDH Bank Premiership fixtures. The match between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Masters, originally set for Saturday, June 27, 2026, has been relocated from Mpira Stadium to Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza. Additionally, the clash between Silver Strikers and Red Lions has been pushed back one day to Sunday, June 28, 2026. The league explained that the modifications were necessary due to the unavailability of both Mpira and Silver Stadiums on the scheduled dates, though all original kick-off times will remain the same.
