The Malawi Women's National Football Team, the Scorchers, have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of their debut appearance at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, according to the Football Association of Malawi. As part of their final preparations for the tournament, head coach Lovemore Fazili's squad will play friendly matches against hosts Morocco on July 16 and Ghana on July 23. The technical panel has also recalled Chisomo Banda, Lyna James, and Tendai Sani to the squad; the three players are scheduled to depart Malawi on July 17. Vice-captain Temwa Chawinga is expected to join the team in Rabat on July 20 before the Scorchers open their Group C campaign against defending champions Nigeria on July 28.

Following their recently reported elimination from the Airtel Top 8, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are turning their attention back to the FDH Bank Premiership, according to the club's official website. The team will host Ekhaya FC at Mpira Stadium on Sunday, July 19, just a week after Ekhaya knocked them out of the cup tournament in a penalty shootout. The Bullets are aiming to maintain their unbeaten league record and secure a fourth consecutive premiership victory under head coach Wedson Nyirenda, a run that has kept them in second place in the current league standings.
