In domestic football, Silver Strikers secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Karonga United in the FDH Bank Premiership at Silver Stadium over the weekend, according to Nation Online. In other top-flight fixtures, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets played to a goalless draw against Ekhaya FC, while Kamuzu Barracks defeated Blue Eagles 2-1.

Update: Songwe Border United have opened a three-point lead at the top of the National Division League following a weekend victory over Mighty Tigers, according to the Football Association of Malawi. In other lower-division action, Bangwe All Stars registered their first win of the campaign by defeating Changalume Barracks 2-0.

Off the pitch, the Malawian football community is mourning a loss in its leadership. On Saturday, the Football Association of Malawi formally announced the passing of Super League of Malawi executive member Henry Banda after a short illness, expressing condolences for the late sports administrator.

In netball, Kukoma Diamonds have climbed to the top of the FDH Premier Netball League standings following a successful double-header at the Blantyre Sports Arena, reports Nyasa Times. The Diamonds defeated Civonets 55-48 on Saturday before following up with a 58-46 win over Kia Atlas on Sunday. Head coach Noel Musa commended the players for executing their tactical plan, noting that the results stretch the team's unbeaten start to the season.
