Miss Malawi 2025 Thandi Chisi hosted a special empowerment event in Lilongwe to mark International Women's Day over the weekend, according to Nation Online. Held on Saturday alongside the Miss Malawi Organisation, the gathering aimed to encourage young girls to pursue their ambitions and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Chisi told students and women leaders in attendance that she hopes her journey will inspire more young women to participate in the pageant and use the platform to contribute to society.

First Vice-President Jane Ansah attended the event and commended the organisers for creating opportunities that inspire young women to take up leadership roles, Nation Online reports. Ansah encouraged the audience to rise above challenging circumstances and noted that women's participation is a fundamental requirement for sustainable development. During the gathering, Miss Malawi Organisation official Godfrey Kambewa also announced that the pageant is being intentionally repositioned to focus more heavily on social empowerment rather than outward beauty alone.
