Malawian singer Driemo has been announced as a performer for the upcoming Africa Connect concert in Harare, Zimbabwe, scheduled for September 19, according to Nyasa Times. The 15-hour music marathon will see the homegrown hitmaker sharing the stage with prominent African artists, including Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr, Tanzanian favourite Diamond Platnumz, and Zambian musician Yo Maps. Organisers stated that the event is designed to unite artists and audiences from across the continent.
Update: The annual Sand Music Festival has secured a new five-year sponsorship agreement with CapeStars Limited, Nyasa Times reports. The partnership with Impakt Events Management, which will run through 2030, aims to elevate the festival's profile and draw high-calibre performers from both Malawi and abroad. Organisers and sponsors hope the long-term financial commitment will grow the country's creative industries and position Malawi as an attractive destination for regional tourism.
