In diplomatic engagements abroad, Malawi joined a delegation of ambassadors from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for a meeting with the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) in Egypt on Thursday. The SCA reports that Admiral Ossama Rabiee hosted the envoys to explore joint cooperation in maritime services, training, and the development of fish resources. The meetings aim to exchange developmental expertise between Egypt and SADC member states.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and international partners convened a feedback session on Wednesday following the 2026 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on HIV and AIDS. According to the National AIDS Commission, discussions centered on aligning Malawi's national response with the 2026 UN Political Declaration. UNAIDS Country Director Dr. David Chipanta and Secretary for Health Dr. Dan Namarika noted that officials are working on new strategies to sustain progress toward eliminating AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 despite shrinking global health financing.
