Malawi’s 2026/27 football season will begin with the Charity Shield on April 18, 2026, and the FDH Bank Premiership will kick off on April 25, 2026, according to the Football Association of Malawi (FAM). FAM said the season is scheduled to end on March 21, 2027, under its calendar transition project that is moving local football from the traditional March to December season toward an August to May cycle.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets said the Charity Shield will be a derby against Mighty Wanderers, with Wanderers qualifying as 2025 TNM Super League champions and Bullets qualifying as Castel Challenge Cup winners, according to the club. Malawi Broadcasting Corporation has also reported on Wanderers’ 2025 league title, which sets up the season-opening showdown.
