The Malawi Under-23 Men's National Football Team has named a 24-member squad for the upcoming CAF Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Eswatini, according to Nation Online and the Football Association of Malawi. Head coach Bob Mpinganjira announced the selection ahead of the team's training camp, which opened in Blantyre on September 10. Malawi will travel to Eswatini for the first leg on September 28, with the return match scheduled for October 6 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. The overall winner will advance to face Algeria in the second round of the qualifiers.

In netball news, Eris Properties has presented the Malawi National Netball Team with a corporate social responsibility award celebrating the dedicated house the team received in Namiwawa earlier this year, reports the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation. The subsidiary of Nico Group handed over the award as the Queens hold their training camp in preparation for the Africa Netball Cup. The tournament will take place in Kenya from September 19 to 26.

Meanwhile in the Super League, Silver Strikers Football Club has announced major changes to its technical panel following the departure of Peter Mgangira, according to Maravi Express and AllAfrica. The premiership side appointed Patricio Kulemeka as caretaker head coach to lead the first team. He is supported by assistants Mapopa Msukwa and Andrew Chikhosi. Club officials stated that the interim appointments aim to ensure continuity and maintain focus on competitive matches while long-term management plans are finalised.
