Malawian Concert Scene Heats Up as Bien-Aimé and International Acts Book Lilongwe Shows

Kenyan Grammy Award-winning musician Bien-Aimé Alusa Baraza is set to headline the fourth edition of the Live at Kumbali music concert in Lilongwe on October 24, according to Nyasa Times and Maravi Express. The former Sauti Sol lead vocalist will share the stage with Malawian artists Driemo, Praise Umali, and Maggie Kadrum. The event is sponsored by Standard Bank Plc as part of its Joy of the Arts initiative. This program aims to support Malawi's creative industries and provide local musicians a platform to perform alongside international stars.

In related news, Malawian music star Driemo is expanding his regional presence by joining the lineup for the Africa Connect Concert in Zambia on September 19. The artist will perform during the cross-border event at the Polo Fields in Lusaka as part of his ongoing Magician Way Tour. He will share the stage with major African acts such as Ayra Starr, Diamond Platnumz, and Yo Maps.

Gospel and urban artist Theresa Phondo has also announced a live concert designed to connect the Malawian music industry with the rest of the continent, Nation Online reports. The upcoming event is scheduled for October 31 at the BICC Amphitheatre in Lilongwe. It will feature performances by Nigerian gospel singer Adah Ehi and Zambian artist Pompi to celebrate Phondo's musical journey.
