Mzuzu University (MZUNI) announced its 2026/27 admissions selections for non-generic undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on September 12, according to the university's official website. Postgraduate classes are scheduled to begin on October 5, 2026. The institution also reminded incoming students that its "No Fees, No Registration" policy remains strictly in effect for the upcoming academic year.

In other university news, the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences on September 11. According to the LUANAR official portal, the agreement is designed to advance joint research and academic cooperation within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

LUANAR is also contributing to national agricultural research efforts targeting climate challenges. According to a September 12 report by the Nation Online, the university is working alongside the National Commission for Science and Technology, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Intellectual Property Organization to develop and commercialise an organo-mineral fertiliser. The initiative is intended to help farmers cushion their crop yields against the adverse effects of El Niño weather patterns.
