Lilongwe Golf Club retained the EthCo Ladies Interclub Golf Tournament crown for a second consecutive year after posting 362 gross strokes at Kasasa Golf Club in Dwangwa, according to Malawi24. The two-day event raised K20 million for the "Swinging for Her Future" initiative to support girls' education.

Malawian international football star Temwa Chawinga has been nominated for Best Zikomo Footballer of the Year at the 2026 Zikomo Africa and Caribbean Awards, as reported by Malawi24. The nomination follows a highly successful season in the United States where she won consecutive Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player awards playing for the Kansas City Current, according to Olympics.com.

Update: Following the recent announcement of the Flames' 31-man provisional squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Sudan and Angola, head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has introduced stricter discipline protocols in the training camp. Local sports outlets report that the crackdown comes after allegations of players consuming alcohol and bringing women into the camp during the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament. The squad features six maiden senior call-ups, including Blessings Kanowa, Jorden Kananga, Shaquille Gwengwe, Adiel Kaduya, Peter Ng'ambi, and Ajussa Kalowa. Returning players Chifundo Mphasi and Francisco Madinga have also been recalled to the team, as reported by Nyasa Times.

Update: Following the Malawi Queens' departure for the 2026 Africa Netball Cup in Nairobi, the team has received its official group placements, according to SuperSport. SuperSport reports that Malawi is drawn into Pool 2 alongside Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, and hosts Kenya. The tournament runs from September 19 to 26 and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney. Ahead of the competition, corporate sponsor NICO Group publicly backed the team's World Cup ambitions, with AllAfrica noting the squad's recent climb to eighth in the global rankings.
