According to Malawi24, the People Over Politics Foundation (PoPF), founded by Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba, has expanded its stipend programme to include six students from the Malawi College of Health Sciences (MCHS). The expansion follows direct requests from MCHS students and brings the foundation's total number of beneficiaries to 150. The initiative now supports students across 10 public colleges and six public universities, providing university beneficiaries with K1.8 million annually.
In higher education developments, the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) has officially opened postgraduate admissions for the 2027/2028 academic year, directing prospective students to submit applications through its online portal. Meanwhile, at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Nancy Chitera formally welcomed newly admitted first-year students on Sunday. Chitera urged the new cohort to prioritize innovation, academic excellence, and integrity as they begin their university studies.
Additionally, the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has officially opened Primary Teacher Certificate Examination (PTCE) registration for the Initial Primary Teacher Education (IPTE) 21 cohort. This marks the next academic step for the teacher trainees currently enrolled in public Teacher Training Colleges, advancing them to the examination phase following their initial enrollment earlier this year.
