The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) has handed over a newly constructed classroom block worth K180 million to St. Mary's Primary School at Nzama in Ntcheu District, according to AMECEA News. The four-classroom facility was officially opened during the Catholic Church in Malawi's 125th-anniversary celebrations. Monsignor Fortunatus Nwachukwu, a special papal envoy, commended the university for its commitment to improving educational infrastructure and supporting rural development.

In other education news, the Kids in Need of Desks (K.I.N.D.) Fund has reached a funding milestone of over $55 million to support learners across Malawi, UNICEF USA reports. Since its launch in 2010, the joint initiative by UNICEF and broadcaster Lawrence O'Donnell has delivered more than 420,000 desks and provided over 52,000 high school scholarships for Malawian girls, increasing access to education for vulnerable student populations.

Additionally, student pharmacists and faculty from East Tennessee State University have expanded their educational and research activities in southern Malawi through a partnership with the Butterfly Collaborative. ETSU reported that the initiative focuses on health education, nutrition screenings, and antimicrobial stewardship. The program provides practical field training for the university students while supporting local health workers and orphaned children in the region.
