Update: In observance of Mother's Day on October 15, President Arthur Peter Mutharika promised to improve maternal healthcare and economic opportunities for women, according to Nyasa Times. Marking the occasion, Vice President Jane Mayemu Ansah visited the National Cancer Centre at Kamuzu Central Hospital to speak with lymphoma patients and assure them of government assistance, Nyasa Times reports.

Update: Efforts to build and upgrade health facilities are advancing across the country. On October 14, the National Bank of Malawi announced a partnership with Press Trust to construct the K1.4 billion Namale Health Centre in Ntcheu District, a project expected to finish in April 2027 and serve 15,000 people. In a continued push for maternal health awareness, NICO Group employees recently participated in the Nation Publications Limited's Sleepover Challenge, spending the night at rural clinics such as Ekwendeni Health Centre to experience the daily hurdles of accessing maternal care.

Update: Malawi joined ten other African nations from October 14 to 16 in Lusaka, Zambia, for a regional health coordination meeting organized by IGAD and SADC. According to IGAD, the summit focused on the World Bank funded Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience program to improve cross-border disease surveillance. Domestically, Nation Online reports that the National Aids Commission held an emergency meeting on October 15 to resolve stakeholder concerns regarding Malawi's Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 application, which funds the country's HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria treatments.
