The Malawi Beach Soccer National team has secured its spot in the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after a 10-1 victory over Seychelles. According to Nation Online, the second-leg match played on October 17 at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima gave Malawi a 16-3 aggregate win. Coach Willy Kumilambe requested continued training camps and international friendlies in Senegal to help the squad prepare ahead of the continental tournament.

Update: Following their recent loss to Angola, the Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, faces public scrutiny after winning only one of its last 10 matches. Nation Online reports that the string of poor results has caused the team's FIFA ranking to drop to 131. Sports analysts are now questioning the squad's direction and overall performance under coach Kalisto Pasuwa.

In basketball, the Bravehearts Basketball Club has opened a training camp in Salima to prepare for the upcoming Basketball League Africa tournament. According to Nation Online, the senior team is using the hot weather to acclimatise before travelling to Zambia for the competition, which runs from October 30 to November 4. The club's Under-20 boys and girls teams will also compete in the Bridging Foundation Tournament later this month.

Finally, Admarc Socials claimed victory at the Football Tournament for Peace by defeating Chilumba on penalties at the Kuhes Sports Complex. According to Malawi24, the October 18 event was organised by the Ghandi Forum in partnership with the Institute for Policy Interaction to promote harmony and peaceful coexistence among communities through social sport.
