Police hold ex-deputy health minister Halima Daudi over suspected counterfeit US$76,900

Former deputy health minister Halima Daudi has been arrested and is being held at Lilongwe Police Station after police allegedly found her with US$76,900 suspected to be counterfeit, according to Malawi Freedom Network. National Police spokesperson Lael Chimtembo told Malawi Freedom Network that Daudi is expected to appear in court, and police indicated she is likely to face a charge related to possession of articles bearing designs that imitate currency, according to Malawi Freedom Network.
