In a related move, the club announced on its official website that 23-year-old goalkeeper Austin Chirambo has been sent on loan to newly promoted Mitundu Baptist for the remainder of the season. Mighty Wanderers secured five new signings, adding players such as Jacob Anyandwile and Peter Ng'ambi. In international football, Malawi Under-17 Girls National Team head coach Chisomo Nkhoma has named a 36-member squad to begin preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers against Burundi, the Football Association of Malawi reports. The team is scheduled to enter training camp on March 22 at the Luwinga Technical Centre in Mzuzu. The roster includes experienced youth internationals Emily Samuel, Eneles Fabiano, Victoria Mkwala, and Fatima Lali. The Young Scorchers will host the first leg of the qualifier on April 11 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. The return match will take place a week later in Burundi. The overall winner of the tie will advance to face either South Sudan or Ethiopia in the second round.
