Domestic Football Giants Conclude Transfers as Mukuru Sponsors Four Nations Tournament

Domestic football powerhouses FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Wanderers, and Silver Strikers have officially concluded their transfer market activities for the season, Nation Online reports. In tournament action, Karonga United Reserves and Mponela FC have advanced to the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Championship final, according to the Football Association of Malawi. Additionally, international financial services company Mukuru has been confirmed as the title sponsor for the upcoming Four Nations regional competition, Nation Online reports.

Malawian High Court judge and Confederation of African Football (CAF) appeals board member Masauko Msungama has declined to comment on the board's decision to strip Senegal of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations title, according to Nation Online. The ruling awarded the championship to Morocco after Senegalese players walked off the pitch in protest during the final. Local football analysts have heavily criticised the CAF appeals board for overturning the match result, Nation Online adds.

In netball, the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) partnered with the Malawi University of Science and Technology to train technical personnel from local clubs in sports science, Nation Online reports. Despite the training initiative, the recent FDH Bank Premier Netball League highlighted ongoing infrastructure challenges. A lack of standard indoor courts remains a primary reason behind the dwindling standards of the sport in the country, according to Nation Online.

The National Bank of Malawi plc has contributed K20 million toward the Saulos Klaus Chilima Foundation's charity golf tournament, according to Nyasa Times. The event is scheduled for March 28 at the Lilongwe Golf Club. Nyasa Times reports that the tournament aims to raise funds to purchase dialysis machines and patient monitoring equipment for public hospitals.
