Maranatha Academy Managing Director Ernest Kaonga is set to be honoured for his leadership and contributions to academic excellence as India's Sharda University expands scholarship opportunities for Malawian students, according to the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation. The recognition coincides with the two institutions strengthening their ongoing educational partnership, which provides 50 percent scholarships to help ease the cost of studying abroad for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In local higher education, the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) officially closed registration for its Natural Resources College diploma programmes on April 2. According to an official university directive, candidates who failed to meet the deadline and pay the minimum 50 percent tuition requirement have now forfeited their admission offers for the academic calendar.
