Gwamba Exits Betway Partnership as Malawian Artists Drop Fresh April Tracks

Prominent Malawian hip-hop artist Gwamba has officially bid an emotional farewell to his brand ambassadorial role with betting company Betway, concluding a two-year partnership. According to the Nyasa Times, the rapper announced the end of his journey with the brand on April 1, reflecting on his prominent advertising campaigns with the phrase "Ndimagona Mkati, Ndikagona Panja Ndipa Billboard."

In music release news, the first week of April has seen a flurry of new tracks from top Malawian artists. On April 1, celebrated singer Patience Namadingo released a new audio single titled "Iwe," according to local music platform Amati Zambiri. The release coincides with other fresh local drops, including "Ndizampeza" by veteran artist Lulu, and "Pressure" by the duo Slessor and Malone Kyz.

Meanwhile, hitmaker Zeze Kingston continues to expand his international footprint with a new cross-border collaboration. On Friday, April 3, international music collective Bjorn Vido and the Music in Space Experience released their new single "Rockstar MW (Malawi Cape MaClear mix)," which features vocal appearances by Zeze Kingston alongside Zee Nxumalo, according to Apple Music.
