Update: Lilongwe-based rapper and producer Naleji continues to gain international attention following the release of his recent singles. According to an April 15 profile in The Hype Magazine, the artist's 2026 tracks, such as "Selebu" and "Mzake Wa Mzanga," are performing well and building his reputation as a dual threat in the studio. The publication praised Naleji for blending classic hip-hop influences with authentic Malawian storytelling, noting his steady artistic growth since his 2021 album "XCVII" and his return to the microphone with the 2024 EP "The Calm Before The Storm".

Meanwhile, Malawian artists have delivered a fresh wave of music releases heading into the weekend. According to the local music platform Amati Zambiri, April 17 saw several new digital drops, including "Dekhetsa" by Winter Music and Gibo Blayze, "Muli Bwanji" by Chris M, and a collaborative track titled "Fake Hip-hop" from Long Cee Tembo and Mac Diver.
