Malawi government officials are exploring a new educational partnership with telecommunications firm Ericsson to train the country's youth in digital skills. According to Nyasa Times, Minister of Information Shadric Namalomba and acting Director General of the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority, Mayamiko Nkoloma, met with Ericsson executives at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The proposed collaboration aims to introduce training programmes focusing on 5G networks, Artificial Intelligence, and Information and Communication Technology systems. The initiative is designed to prepare young Malawians for future digital careers while reducing the technology education gap in rural communities.

In local school developments, teachers in Mchinji District have reported positive results from a recent educational initiative. Nation Online reports that educators are praising the "Tikwanilitse ndi Kuteteza ma Ufulu a Ana" (Tikuma) project for improving the quality of education and learning outcomes for students in the area.

Further south, students at Tengani Community Technical College in Nsanje District are appealing to authorities to construct residential hostels at the institution, according to Nation Online. The learners argue that the lack of on-campus accommodation is creating challenges that negatively affect their daily studies.
