Following its recent academic calendar restructuring, the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) has officially opened the application window for its 2026/2027 academic year. According to official announcements from the university, open programmes include postgraduate degrees, the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) programme, economic fee-paying extended degrees, and Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) courses. Applications for the undergraduate, extended, and ODeL programmes close on May 16, 2026, ahead of a July start date. Postgraduate applications will close on May 31, 2026, for the September intake.
In international support efforts, the UK-based volunteer charity Think Malawi has launched a Kids Triathlon fundraiser to back primary education initiatives across the country. According to Crowdfunder, the campaign features five young athletes from South London who will swim, bike, and run at the Crystal Palace Triathlon on May 10. The raised funds will be directed towards constructing classroom desks and financing menstrual hygiene management projects, which provide sanitary pads to help keep young girls in primary school and reduce dropout rates.
